Sex Tape

sex tapeLast night there happened to be the film Sex Tape on tv and I decided to see what it was about.

Jay and Annie have been very in love, got married, had kids and didn’t have time to have assex-tape-trailer-600x450 much sex as they used to. One night that they were left alone they decided to tape their sex activities on an i Pad to spice up their night, but the next day instead of the tape being erased it was accidentally shared to various other i Pad devices that Jay had given away as a present. So they started going out to find the devices and erase the tape …

since they didn’t know how to do that remotely and save us from the rest of the movie.

On the poster it says “A movie about a movie they don’t want you to see”; well it’s best if you don’t see it at all!

X-Men_Days_of_Future_Past_Official_poster_004I hadn’t watched the X-Men series for some time although I remember I had really enjoyed the first and the second films. So last night I decided to watch the last one, X-Men: Days of Future Past and I loved it too!

In this last film we see the humans having developed an amazing weapon to kill all mutants, movies-x-men-days-of-future-past-peter-dinklagethe sentinels, robotic machines that can change according to the mutant’s skill and thus be indestructible. But the sentinels have lead to the destruction of the whole civilized world, as we see mutants and humans who helped them being killed. Professor X and Magneto form a plan to stop this war before it ever begins, and for that Wolverine has to travel decades back in time. He has to find young professor and young Magneto, convince them of the future threat and stop the birth of the sentinels.

It is a fantastic adventure with an amazing cast that got me interested to watch X-Men once again. The special effects are fabulous and the story is catching, although traveling back in time always leaves me a little baffled. I loved watching the difference between the future and the 70’s aesthetics. I know that there are plans for new X-Men adventures to follow, but this film could have been the perfect ending.

The Longest Week

The_Longest_Week_FilmPosterLast Saturday I watched The Longest Week, a strange romantic comedy and its strangeness made it somewhat interesting.
Conrad Valmont lives on the expense of his immensely wealthy parents while trying to finish writing his book. When his parents decide to divorce they also decide that they don’t want to The-Longest-Week-Olivia-Wilde-First-Look1support Conrad’s lifestyle anymore so he finds himself living with one of his friend for a while. During that time he falls in love with his friend’s love interest Beatrice. He lives with Beatrice for a while but as soon as the week is over his parents are reconciled and he finds himself back where he was.
The reason it is strange is because it is not the typical American romantic film. It has a very interesting pace, one that reminded me of Woody Allen, or that may well have been the aspiring writer with inspiration issues. I really loved the music of the film, but since I couldn’t relate to the characters, especially the protagonist, I can’t say that it is one of my favourite films. You could watch it once, maybe!
